Colorado has more power to protect workers from wage theft than ever before. A new state law that went into force Jan. 1 beefs up the state labor department’s ability to collect unpaid wages.
But a 100-year-old law has been interpreted as requiring the investigative process to be kept secret, even when issues are resolved. Federal labor investigations, meanwhile, have an easily accessible mobile app. That’s information that consumers might like to have.
